Revised Se7en #6: Envy Release Date
According to a press release from Zenescope at NYXXUnderground.com, Se7en #6: Envy will be on sale May 16.

Excerpt from Upcoming Interview
David Mack posted the following excerpt from an upcoming interview:
Well, for starters, you have a shout out in the first answer to an interview I just did that will be at ComicBookResources.com soon.

Here is a snippit:

How did you come to write this issue of Se7en?
DM: Raven Gregory who wrote the first issue of SE7EN, recommended my work to the publishers at Zenescope based on him enjoying my writing in Kabuki. The publishers then approached me at my table in Wizard World Chicago and spoke with me about it.

I’ve since learned that it was a long-time reader of my work named Amanda Kurley who lent Raven her trade of Kabuki Vol 6: Scarab - Lost in Translation while they were at the San Diego Con. Raven had read some other Kabuki stories, but I’ve learned that it was when he read that volume which is a kind of urban crime story, that he decided I should contribute writing to SE7EN.

Projects Available at Cons & WonderCon Appearance?
From David Mack:
I will have a table in artist alley [at the New York Comic Con]. I'll be there all day each day and will sign.

I will have Kabuki trades and all the issues of The Alchemy series. Will have the new Alchemy of Art DVD for sale at my table!

Will have original art: Daredevil, Echo, Alias, Kabuki, White Tiger covers, Ms. Marvel covers, etc.

And will have 11x17 prints for like 2 for $20 or something.

And I will be at the Seatle Con and Philly Con with Brian and Oeming and Maleev.

Also, I'm still considering hitting Wonder Con in SF at the end of February. Not 100% sure yet. Anyone here going to this? Or have advice?

Behind-the-Scenes of David Mack DVD
From David Mack:
It is good for me to hear how people react to this because I know I can't really be objective about it.

I've seen several cuts of it, and each time I asked the director to show less and less of me, and cut to shots of my art while I'm talking instead of me showing me talking. I know I'm not objective about it, and thougth I was seeing too much of myself.

They were very patient and accomodating with me about those things while still being passionate about showing a kind of drama that the director felt was inherent in the face time of the interview and for him was part of the magic of what he wanted in the film.

I've heard myself talk before, so I can't tell if it is interesting to others. So it is interesting to get the feedback.

Creating Kabuki: Circle of Blood in College
After reading a compliment about the line work in Kabuki: Circle of Blood, David Mack replied:
Glad to hear that. I still see the charm in a lot of the work, but I also see a lot of things that I would handle very differently and with more finesse.

A lot of that book was inked in the library in between classes, or at the food court, or in classes :)
