David Mack Painting a Red Sonja Cover
From David Mack:
Hey Oem,

I should be finished with that Red Sonja cover we talked about soon. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. And I'll send it your way.

I'm taking pics of each step of the way, in case that is helpful to you :)

Se7en: Envy #6 Behind-the-Scenes
From David Mack:
I'm always skeptical about this kind of stuff, too. But they totally let me write the story that I wanted to write. No censoring or changing or anything so far.

Although artist Leif Jones is such a fan of the movie that he helped me with some very minute detail continuity advice which served to improve. I'm really looking forward to how people will react to this issue.

Even the cover artist did a terrific job at capturing the some key icons and concepts of the story. Looking great all around so far.

Leif e-mailed me a few pages today which are incredible. He did colors and lettering and balloons on it, too, that just all sing together in the most integrated way.

I'll post a link or something as soon as Leif or Zenescope puts some of the art for the issue in a place to be viewed. Provided they use pages that won't have any spoilers. Some fun twists and connections in this story I think you will enjoy.

David Mack on Accepting Projects
When asked what he considers before working on a comic book project, David Mack replied:
I probably ask myself questions similar to those as a reason of which project to do next and if I should do a project.

If I'm doing a project someone else could do, I should not do it.

Only do the project that only I could bring this specific thing to that I'm imagining.

And also even more important than that (probably most important), I ask this question: Will this be fun?
