David Mack Mentioned at Newsarama.com |

Below is an excerpt from Newsarama.com: |
|
Renee George and her husband Michael have been putting on the [Pittsburgh Comicon] since 1994 and feels that each year is getting better and better. "We try hard to bring in fan favorites," said George. "As soon as we have met them once they feel like family. That is why you will see some artists and writers here every year."
She continued, "We have always been strong promoters of small press. We try to keep the table and booth prices affordable so they can promote their work. I can remember back when Brian Michael Bendis came out and was promoting his self-published Jinx and David Mack has been coming out every year since he started Kabuki. You just never know who will be the next big hit." |

Below is an update from Brian Michael Bendis about his eye injury, which has forced him to wear a patch: |
|
So I went to the eye doctor today...and it ain't good news. At least FOUR MORE MONTHS of healing time. FOUR F***ING MONTHS LIKE THIS!!
How does this effect you? Not much. I'm just bitching. Only thing I'm not going to get to do that I wanted to do is full art on my Powers chapter in issue 12. Which I am so annoyed about. I can put he pages down in pencil but inking blows my eye right out of my head after a few hours, so Mike is going to do it for me. So I did a story polish on his excellent chapter and he's making the book look like professionals actually did it.
Basically, it'll be this forty page Powers story with consistent look instead of flipping back and forth style like we planned on. But I will hint that because we are on Deena's first outting as an officer in this issue look for many many call backs including Olympia and other heroes from Powers yesteryear.
Oh, and if you see me riding my bike on the sidewalk, could you NOT YELL AT ME FOR DOING IT, I HAVE ONE EYE, YOU HIPPIE MUTHER F***ER!!! I CAN'T RIDE IN THE STREET!!
Ahem... thank you. |
Also, Mike Oeming's short film Six, which is based on the comic book that features pin-ups by David Mack and Andy Lee, is now available on his website (79.1 MB - Quicktime). |
