Kabuki: The Alchemy #1 Release Date |
 |
Per David Mack: |

I just got off the phone with my Marvel contact for the new Kabuki issue. It's at the printer and all squared away. Marvel tells me that the #1 issue will be in stores on Wednesday, July 21.
That just happens to be the first day of San Diego Con. I will be at the San Diego con Wed 21 through Sunday. I will be there ALL FIVE DAYS of the show. So please feel welcome to pick up the new issue at your store on Wednesday and bring it to the con, and I will be happy to sign your Kabuki issues. I will sign as many as you bring with NO SIGNING LIMIT. If you buy my work, what ever you bring from your collection, or pick up at my table, I will be happy to sign. Even if it is your entire collection or multiple copies...
I will also have original art there, a selection of 11x17 prints, Kabuki back issues, hardcover collections and paperbacks and more.
If you are looking forward to the new Kabuki series but have not read any of the previous Kabuki trades, you can start right at this series. But I also hope you will pick up the trades to read in the couple weeks before the new series begins. I suggest starting with volume 1 KABUKI: Circle of Blood, or Volume 5 KABUKI: Metamorphosis. This new series begins right where Metamorphosis leaves off, and it will give you some extra depth and contrast for the new series.

David Mack Artwork in Avengers Finale |

Then, we start a new Avengers in November," continued Bendis. "But what you don't know is that in-between Avengers #503 and Avengers #1, we are putting together a special all-new story called 'Avengers Finale' which is kind of like the last episode of M*A*S*H; where all the surviving members of the Avengers after whatever destruction comes their way get together one last time and, like a wake, it's kind of a funny sort of sad that definitely gives the characters a moment to reflect with each other and themselves about what happened and where to go next. Just like Ultimate Spider-Man Special and Daredevil #65 special, this will be a gala all-star art event with numerous artists joining me and Dave Finch to illustrate this from all different points of view."
While Bendis was talking about this Andrew Lis interrupted him to interject something which should thrill longtime Avengers fans. Lis said, "Isn't George Perez drawing the last chapter of this storyline?"
Bendis replied, "Yes and its his first work since JLA/Avengers." Bendis was happy Perez is involved in the story. "This is him putting his own personal stamp on the very last chapter of the Avengers - that he was an architect in bringing back into the forefront of mainstream comics. Not only do we have George, but I've also gotten a bunch of my good friends to work on this. David Mack, Mike Oeming, Mike Gaydos, Alex Maleev, Steve McNiven, Steve Epting, Chynna Clugston-Majors, Jimmy Cheung, and some actual genuine surprises." |
