Home Production Notes Paul McCartney Album Cover
David Mack (December 16, 2003): |
|
Paul is a HUGE fan of comic books. Some of his songs have references to comic books in them.
He is a very artistic person and an amazing painter. Take a look at his big book of paintings you can find in any book store in the art section.
He had his assistant go to great lengths to track me down and commission me to do some paintings and drawing for him, based on his reading my Kabuki comic books.
Besides the musical genius side that everyone knows, he is hugely knowledgable and skilled in many other areas, and is a great person, compassionite humanitarian, and philanthropist. |
David Mack (September 29, 2003): |
|
I've done some CD covers and interier paintings and designs for jazz albums and for Japanese record lables, and my highpoint in this arena is that once Paul McCartney commissioned me to do some drawings and paintings for him after
he saw my work in Kabuki. Of course I like Paul's music and I like his paintings as well. So it was a pleasure and an honor. |
Kabuki: Reflections #3 (February 16, 2000): |
|
On page 3, David Mack states that the issue's cover "is from one of several concept sketches that I was commissioned to for Paul McCartney." He also noted that more artwork will appear in future Reflections." |
