Lindze Merritt's Scarab Costume for Sale
Thanks to Dawn of DefectiveGeeks.com for reporting that Lindze Merritt is selling her Scarab costume according to a LiveJournal post. When asked about the costume (photos: one, two & three), Mrs. Merritt noted:
I still have the costume for sale, just a few notes about it:

Included are: stretch pleather bodysuit with spikes, real leather choker, real leather hand guards, real leather waist corset with elastic bands for comfort, 3 hair chopsticks, misc. straps for tying on legs, 1 arm guard (was made from cardboard/Velcro, meant to remake, never did; can be used as template/pattern to remake others) and a very very mashed latex mask that was custom made from my face. (The porcelain ones didn’t look as seamless like the comics to me, but it's included; pretty much unusable for more than a reference guide.) I also have the size 9 women’s boots available, if needed.

However, the major flaw with this costume is the spikes. I riveted them in with interfacing to support them in the back. However, since it’s a stretch pleather that’s nice and light and comfy, they slowly have been ripping out as I bend and move over the years. I black taped many of them back on, replaced some, etc., but they are definitely on their way out, and because they were riveted, not screwed, they cannot be fixed without completely replacing them. They also will leave small holes if removed prematurely. There are also a few very small tears around the "keyhole" open back area/zipper.

Sizing: 30-32" underbust width, 26-28" waist, 38-42" hips, inseam: 32", arm length 24" length.

I wanted to tell you about the flaws, because that’s why I have it for much lower than if it was in perfect condition. I have the price listed as $100, not including shipping. I’d probably sell this for $300+ in perfect condition, because of the leather and sleek bodysuit I’m pretty proud of.
