A rational person will not expect the world to conform around their ideas. They understand that they must conform to the conventions of the rational world. Therefore, all important breakthroughs are made by irrational people.

David Mack & MC Chris Collaborate on Album Art
From the blog of MC Chris:
New Avengers 39

Why is this issue important? Well, it’s being drawn by this guy:

davidmackguide.com or myspace.com/davidmackkabuki

He writes a book for Marvel called Kabuki: Reflections.

The issue obviously isn't drawn so much as it’s painted so it should be a fresh look at the deaf character Echo. The girl the Avengers went to Japan to save. where Hawkeye got his Ronin suit (the pic that was my profile pic for a long time.)

What’s even cooler about this issue is that David Mack is an MC Chris fan. In his latest issue of Reflections, number 9, there’s a picture of him and I, after an MC Chris show. Want to take this coolness into uncharted sectors of the coolniverse? Mack said there might be a little MC Chris shout out somewhere in the book.

That’s right, I might get a nod in The Avengers. This might be the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me, and I’ve slept over at Skywalker Ranch and had sex at the Playboy mansion.

So I'm crazy stoked on that. So much so, David and I are planning a David Mack MC Chris piece to help promote the new record: MC Chris is Dead. Hopefully I can get some other artists involved as well. Nate is always the official artist. That’s what the cartoon’s gonna look like, but I hope to work with everybody!

So go buy this week’s Kabuki: Reflections 9 with a pic of me in the back!

Make mine Marvel!

From David Mack:
You know who is a huge Avengers fan?

MC Chris. I was talking to him yesterday cause I'm doing some art for his new CD and he is hugely in love with Brian Bendis's writing and plotting, and overarching story structure.

He has a pretty extensive Silent Invasion theory on his myspace blog, and he is way into the current New Avengers story. He's a big BMB fan.

When asked about the progress of the MC Chris artwork, Mr. Mack explained: "I can't start on it until I finish this issue of New Avengers. But NA 39 is a heap of fun."

David Mack Plugged During Neil Vokes Interview
Below is an excerpt from a Neil Vokes interview:
B3: Are there any "new guys" that you think are doing some good stuff?

Vokes: I'm out of the loop, not reading anything anymore - but, artist-wise there's my little bro, Mikey Oeming (who has recently been getting the attention he deserves), Mike Mignola is a god, David Mack, Alex Ross is absolutely magical - it's hard to pick "new guys,' not knowing who's new - lol.
