When I employ language, every sentence is bi-lingual, or allegorical, saying one thing, and meaning another, or even several, including the obvious.

Kabuki: The Alchemy #9 Review
The Atlantis Comics blog posted a review of Kabuki: The Alchemy #9.

Art Approach for New Avengers #39
From David Mack:
    Lord Jermaine Retail wrote:
What I tell people when they disapprove of the art is that no other artist could get across the theme of the current arc better than Yu. What is the theme? "Is this guy who he says he is? Can I trust this guy?" For that kind of story you need a dark, sketchy type of art. Simply because of the art your mind perhaps distrusts characters that you normally would accept at face value. To me, there's nobody else better suited for the vibe of these arcs.
That is a very interesting idea you just mentioned, because in preparation for this issue I've been asking myself what inking style will be best, to represent the theme of this issue (which is quite dark, and is very much about paranoia and trust, and are people what they seem at face value) and I was working out inking with quite a bit of shadows and inks applied with a crowquil pen and very much taking advantage of line, and hatching, and when I saw Yu's work it kind of rounded out some extra information to me about how to do some lighting and line qualities for the same reasons that you mentioned.

I was going over this a bit in conversations with Brian.
