#1: That is great that you mentioned Anke. I almost mentioned her myself, because I love her work, but this was about recent reads, and I had not read her recent work, but I have quite a lot of her work form years back when I picked up a bunch in Germany.
You have great taste! Not too many people here know of Anke. Even though I've seen some artists from Europe with a name here, influenced by her. I have some of her prints laying around my house for inspiration on recent issues.
Also, I have some of Nilsen's work too and enjoy it. But again, this is from years back.
Glad you liked Kent's Fountain. I thought it was wonderful with the contrast in the 3 styles of art for the 3 time periods. He is really wonderful.
#2: I met Marc DeMatteis at my booth in San Fran this year.
He was really nice, and he read the new Alchemy series and wrote me some great e-mails about it. We've kept up a correspondence and been sending each other books back and forth.
So I have his Brooklyn Dreams and Abadazzad but have not read yet, though I am looking forward to it.
He has been very nice to me and had some amazing response to The Alchemy.
I think he is a real talent, too.
#3: I have been enjoying Bendis' work of course, since you mentioned New Avengers. I've read several of them in script form and was pretty impressed at his take on it. Especially the Brother Voodoo thing.
And he had a really interesting Echo story going.
I'm more a reader of creator than character. So that always makes the dif for me.
Glad you are enjoying. Sounds like you have a big list. Just priortize and read Kabuki first :)
