I practice literature as magic. All words and all works are alchemy, the great science/art of transformation.

Thoughts About Craig Thompson's Blankets
From SequentialTart.com:
David Mack, artist, illustrator, and writer whose works include both Marvel Comics' Daredevil as well as his own creation, Kabuki. "I do very much like Top Shelf books," says Mack. "My favorite recent book is Blankets by Craig Thompson. Definitely my favorite book of 2003. I like all of Craig's work so far. I'm a big fan of autobiographical books anyway, and I love how Craig did such a moving and emotionally accessible book as Blankets with such artistry. His art and design is incredible. I loved it because it reminded me of moments in my own childhood."
