see them as nicely online)

MON, 9/27/04, 11:41 p.m.
Thank you so much!
That is so kind of you and I'm eating some of your gifts right now!
I love all of the things you sent. Your packages are so inspiring. I'm
already thinking of how to integrate your gifts into my artwork
And I love the Akemi hair stripe additions!
I need to send a new package to you.
KABUKI: The Alchemy #2 hits stores this Wednesday Sept 29!
And some of your letters are in the letters collumn.
The one where you say Tear drops collumn is a "Soul Banquet" of letters.
I tried to make this letters collumn live up to that description.
And I can't wait to here what you think of this issue.
Thank you so much,
and warmest kindest regards!
Your fan,
David

TUE, 9/28/04, 12:38 a.m. - In Response To: Re: Fumiko! The package
arrived today! (Miss Fumiko)
It is safe!
And in my mouth (part of it)
The sardines look cool. They look so good that I don't want to open
them for a bit so I can look at the package first
And I love all the other things. Like the photo of you
Not a problem for them to leave it on my porch. There are always many
boxes of books being dropped off at my porch. I have my new copies of Kabuki #2 already!
This Alchemy series is a lot of fun!
I was so worried! The tracking said they left it on your
porch? I guess i am in NY thinking... I always thought that goodness if
i had a BBQ im sure someone would up and steal the kabobs! So, i forget
some neighborhoods are more secure.
good! im relieved! i just opened a UPS account! Well, im glad you
like it. i like the chocolate sardines! good, and thank you for printing
my letters! im so glad Kabuki is back and sheesh? That is this wednesday!
looking forward..
im glad you like the hair.. i did some real experiments w/ my own
hair so i don't need the Akemi ones anymore, but I still have a matching
one too.
cool and best,
Miss Fumiko
Thank you so much!

arrived today! (Michael Goodman)
Before you eat them, I hope.
Some I integrate into my art, some I integrate into my body for energy
in making my art
It's all a great collaboration!
Re: Kabuki busts - TUE, 9/28/04, 3:43

In Response To: Kabuki busts (Veronica)
Dear David,
Can I order all the busts from you? and if so, will it still be $3.50 for the first item and .50@ for each additional item? Please let me know because I'm very confused and it will help me order them faster!!!
I loved "The Alchemy" and I can't wait 'till wednesday to get my hands on the new comic issue... all the wait is killing me but in a good way...
Veronica
Hi Veronica!
Anh says that is fine, or if you want us to insure it, send $10 to
cover all postage and insurance.
I'll be happy to sign them for you if you want. Just include a reminder when you send the order.
And we'll throw in some extras.
Best,
DM
Re: David, are you REALLY going to the
Philippines
TUE, 9/28/04, 5:35 p.m. - In Response To: David, are you REALLY going
to the Philippines? (Donna)
dear david, maestro mack,
hello, remember me? i'm the one who hasn't written you yet after
saying i would a few months back (and planning to do that a few years back,
tee hee). the letter's coming soon, i promise (not that it would affect
your world in any way)!
anyway, a friend of mine alerted me to this thread (see link below)
about your getting an invitation to do a signing session in the philippines.
all i would like to say is: Please please do come!!! i can spread the word
around once the arrangements have been made.
(i sounded calm, didn't i? my friend, pooy guy, has had to suffer
through some screaming and exclamation points as i wanted to make sure
that he wasn't pulling my leg.)
keeping my fingers crossed.
Hi Donna!
Great to hear from you.
Thanks for putting a link to the tread about my future visit to Manila
The original invitation was for me to sign at Fully Booked in Manilla
this November.
I won't be able to do it in November with my current publishing schedule.
So I am hoping to visit Manila and sign at Fully Booked next year instead.
And the new Fully Booked newsletter will have an interview with me in
it.
I'll also continue to respond to posts on the thread you linked to.
Feel welcome to give me any advice, suggestions or personal ideas that
you have about my visit
Kindest regards,
David
Re: RAINN Art
WED, 9/29/04, 4:19 p.m. - In Response To: RAINN Art (mirjaT)
I was amazed when I read in Alchemy 1 that David did a painting
for the 2005 RAINN Calender, being a Tori Amos fanatic for years I loved seeing that my two favorite artists somehow have a connection (specially through THAT organization)!
David if you're reading this, are you a Tori Amos "fan" or even listen
to her music? where you asked to contribute to the calender and then made
the (beautiful) painting or did you just do it out of other reasons and
later gave it to RAINN?
I'm glad you heard about the RAINN calendar.
I am indeed a fan of Tori and her music.
They asked me to do it for the RAINN charity and I did it especially
for the calendar.
I also did a Tori painting for the 2004 RAINN calendar which is the
first time they asked me to be a part of it. Ken Meyer Jr organized the
calendars.
And I donated the art for the 2005 calendar to a RAINN charaity benifit
to be auctioned off to raise money for RAINN.
I'm told from the event organizer that someone from Tori's family bought
my Tori painting from the 2005 calendar
Re: My original art
WED, 9/29/04, 4:23 p.m. - In Response To: My original art (smokinghawk)
I thought I'd share some of my original art here, too. This
is a collage I did of me and my son in his cradleboard, including feathers
and bear bones. The emblem in the lower left is an Ojibway glyph used to
teach children.
That's incredible!
I love it!
It has a lot of the kind of feeling that I attempted to put into the
Echo story.
I like your other art too, but this is probably my favorite.
Is this your most recent work?
Re: Kabuki's kama
WED, 9/29/04, 4:26 p.m. - In Response To: Kabuki's kama (Kate O.)
Glad to have found this site.
I'm wondering if anyone has been able to find kama that look like
the ones Kabuki has. I'm looking for a pair cause I'd like to update the
Kabuki costume I made 4 years ago. The outfit was ok for an on-the-fly getup, but I'd like to do it right this time.
I also had a nice Kabuki mask painted, but unfortuanately I didn't use enough laquer spray on it. The mask got dirty and I couldn't clean
it again. So if anyone knows where I can pick up a mask, lightweight and
that's wearable, please clue me in. I'd hate to have to ask my brother-in-law
to help me again, cause I think he would be mad that I let it get dirty.
Oi!
Thanks for your help.
Hi Kate!
The Kabuki kama/sickle will be offered for sale soon. There are ads for it in the first 2 issues of the new series. #2 hits stores today!
And the Kabuki mask is still available.
Check davidmackguide.com for details on all of these.
And where you can buy them or mail order them.
Davidmack.net also has contact info.
Best!
David
