Hi Robin,
Please tell the gang from Gotham comics that I say hello!
It was great doing a signing there with Mark Millar and Frank Quitely
in 2002!
The Gotham gang was super nice to me!
And even gave me some Arnica for my broken thumb!
And give my regards to everyone at Armageddon!
And best to you too!
David

Hi David,
I have passed on your wishes to the Gotham gang and will do the
same at Armageddon!
Jeremy Bishop says it was his Mum that gave you the Arnica!! Cool!!
He is totally stoked and we're gonna send you a little package from da
kiwi's.
It was uber cool to meet you in 2002, if your down this way again
there's some cool rock climbing around and just out of Auckland too.
Cheers David!
Robin
Yup! It was Jeremy's Mum! She was very kind and helpful! Jeremy too!
Please give them my personal thanks!

So, MACK!, what's the most interesting/surprising thing
you've learned about David Mack by reading the
website?
There are some books that I hadn't seen before. Books that included sketches
or doodles as pinups.
And a lot of stuff that I forgot about! Or stuff I have not seen for
ten or fifteen years
Really old stuff that I never mention to anyone
Some stuff I did when I was as young as 17 and 18.
And the interviews where other artists/writers mention me that he has
on the updates are things that I never would have seen or heard of otherwise.

p.s. i really like the links to t-shirts & other
kabuki-merch... really makes me want to get a gai-jeans one too!
That seems to be the most popular/hottest selling Kabuki shirt right now!
And it looks very cool.
AND i especially like the randomly generated kabuki quotes!
I really dig that too! That and the art that also changes in the corner.
Those were a really good surprise.
I'll let you know if I run by that issue of Giant Robot that has the
review of KABUKI Circle of Blood. It shows the cover too. The cover of the first printing at the Caliber publishing. Pre- Image. So I think it
is an issue from 1996 where they reviewed it right after it came out.
It was a really nice positive review. Something to the effect that
it was great to have a book that you can not only enjoy but learn something
from.
Who here is from Arizona? October!

Signing at Atomic Comics...
We’re doing it again! The weekend of October 22nd & 23rd Atomic
Comics is holding it’s 2nd annual October Free Comic Book Day extravaganza,
subtitled “Atomic-Con”. Loads of creators (and we’re still adding more!)
have signed on to help make this weekend special including Joe Quesada, Brian Michael Bendis, David Mack, Frank Cho, Jim Mahfood, Steve Rude, Robert
Kirkman, Mike Kunkel, Scott Kolins, Cory Walker, Chris Giarrusso, James
Owens, Raven Gregory, Patrick Scherberger, Marat Mychaels, Rob Osborne
and of course, the official Marvel Comics Spider-Man himself! How often
do folks get to meet that much talent for free?!?!?
On Friday evening, Atomic is hosting a charity original art auction
with 100% of the proceeds benefiting ACTOR and the East Valley Child Crisis
Center. During last year’s October FCBD we raised $4000.00 for charities,
and with this year’s line-up we’re hoping to blast way past that number!
Saturday the 23rd is the day for the fans! Free comic books for everyone!
Spider-Man in person to meet the kids (and the kid in all of us), and some
of the comic industry’s brightest stars on hand for autographs! Add in
all sorts of cool sun stuff from donut dunking to face painting to yo-yo
contests, and we’re looking at one fantastic weekend of thank-you’s for
our industry’s loyal fans!
As Michael Malve, Atomic Comic’s owner put it, “Yowza! This is huge!
This is FREE!”
