David Thornton's amazing new Kabuki site!
THU, 9/16/04, 4:26 a.m.
DT,
Wow!
This is the most extensive site I have ever seen.
I recieved you letter about it. And thanks for the books you sent!
I've tried to look at everything on this site, but still haven't seen every single clickable thing.
I think readers are going to love this.
Thank you very much for putting this together.
Should we go ahead and announce the address for it now?
Best,
David

loves everyone.. but Adam, sorry Adam =()
David doesn't get his comics..
well, actually, they're going out tomorrow (sorry DT, I have school
during PO hours), but I will put a curse on them or something.
I've tried to google this site to no avail. I must see it. I was
good today and gave my teacher a copy of Alchemy #1 and sent my copies of all 6 Kabuki trades away to a friend as a gift.. so please replace this
gap on my bookshelf with a url? pleasE?
I don't think he has put in on the search engines yet. He's going to present
it soon I think! He asked me to go over it first to check it out before
he made the big intro with it.
I am awed by how extensive it is.
He basically has a list and image of (and info about) every single published
thing I've ever done.
Maybe just a couple things I haven't seen on it yet that he may include
later.
But I am stunned by everything he has on there and how expertly catalogued
it is. Including just about every post I've ever made on the internet,
and all my answers to frequently asked questions, etc.
I love how he presents all the art and quotes on it too.
Look forward to it!
He is obviously a professional at this kind of thing.
It is the site I will visit to learn about myself! what I've done, and
what is coming out and when.

Now I hope you can understand my surprise and delight when
I found a store accepting pre-orders for both of the figures
Best,
David Thornton
Glad to hear that!
Thanks for the info!

Mack has a doodle in Torso #8.
Now to find Vital Man!!
Oh, no!
The site includes a lot of really old stuff. Enjoy it on the site, but
I hope you don't feel the need to collect it.
Bendis and i both, have tried to make it a point not to print in collections or try to sell to our fans stuff that we felt wasn't good enough to keep in print.
He drew the line at stuff before his crime comics, and I drew the line
at the beginning of Kabuki.
Stuff before that, we didn't want to burden fans with, or try to resell
it, as it just isn't up to our standards now.
So enjoy it if you want to, but please know that I'm not promoting it
to you. I'm not trying to get you to buy it. I do not endorse it.
That goes for pretty much all of my pre- Kabuki work.
What I dig about the site, is that it has all the DD and Alias covers,
and all of the Kabuki covers I ever did, right there for you to check out.
And lots more.

Would the projects be Boondoggle and Captain Kentucky? I
noticed these two projects were included in a NKU library collection.
Well, I inked a cover for Boondoggle. Maybe 94 or 95?
But I've never heard of the other one. Or if I have heard of it, I
have forgotten it. In all seriousness, I can't imagine that I worked on
something with that name.
I was thinking, I do have some other Album covers that you may not have
seen or know about. And some other book covers. But I'm trying to decide
if I should keep them buried
I'm thinking to send you some sketches and photos for future inclusion.
Also I have interviews in the 2005 Writers Market and the Artists Market
books. And some other things like that, I should list and update you on.

Thanks for the link.
I looked at it, and I'm pretty sure I've never heard of that title
before.
It could be a mistake, or maybe something where someone mentioned me
or included a drawing I did that I don't know about?

Ooo. This is going to take up the rest of my internet time
tonight, for sure. Good job the website. Thanks so much for putting it
up
Are you the Dawn I met this year in San Diego?
With the photos dressed as Kabuki?
I wonder if those are on the site too.
I'm still going through the site as well
What other boards are you posting it on?

Hey DT,
Was good to see you on the benbo
Will you be dropping by any other boards to intro the new site?

No problem on the plug
Thanks for allowing me to include your pictures in the upcoming Fan
Works section, which I can't wait to see myself
DT,
Do you have Lindze's Scarab Costume on it as well?
That was another of the best Kabuki costumes.
There was a Kabuki costume in SD this year and I've seen a few Snapdragon's this year as well.
And Tigerlilly in Philly!

I love the random quotes and images at the top by the way...
I'll have to figure out how to do that.
I like that part too!

Page layouts has *always* been a very tough decision-making
process for me.
In the case of my main page, I definitely plan on adding more Spotlight
banners (ie one for Anh's awesome Tranimals when they are in stock at Tower Records) in order to break up the text-heavy flow of headlines
Hey DT!
The Tranimals should be in all the Tower stores by now. Anh saw them
herself in the Atlanta Tower stores, and has reports of other sitings in
NY, VA, and all over the country.
Also, I should note that the sales figures you have there, are I think
the ones from the monthly estimates that I've seen on line in other places.
They seem to be conservative estimates based on the ranking order of the
books of the pre-orders of that month.
They aren't the same figures that I recieve from Marvel and Image (which
are better, thankfully!), and they only attempt to reflect the estimates
of the first ADVANCE orders for that ONE MONTH. They don't attempt to estimate
sales beyond that month or re-orders, or the entire printrun sell-through.
For ranking the order in the top100 sellers of that ONE MONTH, they
can be useful as conservative guesstimates, but don't nearly reflect the
actual amount of the copies of that particluar book in circulation.

Sounds good!
I think there are also boards at the pulse, comicon.com, newsarama...
and I hear there is a cool GIANT ROBOT board.
Secretasiangirl from this board posts there.
And they sell Tranimals in the GR stores in LA and SanFran
