Hi Shawn,
(I think the first time I've called you by that name)
Your site looks great.
I recognize a lot of the paintings I saw at your place. The works under
"Impressionism" and "abstract" are still my favorites. It is a really nice
presentation.
Although those photos of you with Mike Tyson and others who own your
paintings of them would be a fun addition!
It is good to see you here at this messageboard. Feel welcome to promote
your work and give updates and links of your work here if you like. There
is a pretty good community of artists here, students and professionals.
It was good to see you at my talk and presentation at NKU last year.
Thanks a lot for coming.
And the childhood stories are never censored Playing Zorro, stuntmen,
skateboards, and ninjas are all great memories for me.
Best,
David
Kabuki release date, trades, and San
Diego Con...
WED, 7/7/04, 5:18 a.m. - In Response To: San Diego comic-con? (scarab_noh)
Are you going to be there David? = )...... I really, really
want to meet you. I love all the books!!!! maybe I could show you my drawings
and there could be a little signing action.... If not I hope to see you
at 2005's Wondercon in San Francisco! = )
Hi Scarab,
I will be in SD and would be happy to sign your books and look at your
work. Here is some info on it from a recent post:
Hey all,
I just got off the phone with my Marvel contact for the new Kabuki
issue. It's at the printer and all squared away.
Marvel tells me that the #1 issue will be in stores on Wednesday July 21.
That just happens to be the first day of San Diego Con. I will be at
the San Diego con Wed 21 through Sunday. I will be there ALL FIVE DAYS
of the show. So please feel welcome to pick up the new issue at your store
on Wednesday and bring it to the con, and I will be happy to sign your
Kabuki issues. I will sign as many as you bring with NO SIGNING LIMIT.
If you buy my work, what ever you bring from your collection, or pick up
at my table, I will be happy to sign. Even if it is your entire collection
or multiple copies.
Just mention you are from this board and I will also be nice to you
I will also have original art there, a selection of 11x17 prints, Kabuki
back issues, Hardcover collections and paperbacks and more.
If you are looking forward to the new Kabuki series but have not read any of the previous Kabuki trades, you can start right at this series.
But I also hope you will pick up the trades to read in the couple weeks
before the new series begins. I suggest starting with volume 1 KABUKI: Circle of Blood, or Volume 5 KABUKI: Metamorphosis. This new series begins
right where Metamorphosis leaves off, and it will give you some extra depth and contrast for the new series.
Please post your respons to the Kabuki books when you get a chance to read them.
Thanks,
David

I heard a rumor that you only had a handful of Visions books
left.
are you going to have any in Chicago? I was planning on buying one
then.
PLEASE??? pretty please? with cherries on top?
MG
I do only have a few left, and I don't bring them to cons. But if you remind
me in a post a couple days ahead of time before Chicago, I could try to
bring one special for you.
Or anyone can order them from Anh at or from the checklist
in the back of any of the newer Kabuki issues.
Thanks, MGirl.
Looking forward to meeting you.

Really good Grant Morrison interview

One of the few creators who gets it and understands what this medium
is about.
If you've enjoyed any of my public talks or interviews at events, universities,
or in magazines, you will probably enjoy this as it discusses many of the
points and interests (about the nature of comics, as well as life and art)
that I often go into (in person, and in my work) from Grant's own perspective.

hi David! what kind of tea do you like?
Green Tea, Ginger, and just about all of them
Thanks for asking. I've seen all your posts and am looking forward to
seeing you again at the con.
Thanks for all the kind words and regards!
Re: Queston for Mack.... Read now please!

now please! (scarab_noh)
Hi Scarab,
Just post around the monday before the con to remind me to bring them.
I will definitley have all the hardcovers and shirts at all shows. But Reflections #3, The Gallery, Visions and Masks are a bit more rare, and
I usually don't bring them unless someone asks.
So please remind me. If I don't have room on the plane to bring all
the masks, I can sign them and mail them to you.
