I’ve always said that a cube has 8 sides. 6 surface sides, the inside, and the outside. You must look beyond the surface to appreciate the other dimensions.

Re: heros con, thanks to Dave, Paul Pope, Andy Lee
TUE, 6/15/04, 6:46 p.m. - In Response To: heros con, thanks to Dave, Paul Pope, Andy Lee... (tony saunders)

and all the other heroes! You guys are just waaaay too cool. David, I have no doubt my friend Randy will now be a lifelong Kabuki fan. Thank you for always being so kind!

As Lenny and myself were leaving, Paul Pope actually invited us to the Westin for a couple of drinks!WhooHoo!! Alas, I had to not go for a lot of reasons 1. Lennys car doesn't lock and we feared leaving all our stuff unattended. 2.It was a looong drive back and work will come early tomorrow. and 3. I have had no luck reaching my mom on the phone in Georgia, still haven't and needless to say I am kinda worried so I wanted to get back to see whats up with that. Even tho that still eludes me as NONE of my family are answering phones. GRRRR! But anyway, Paul was very gracious in a much appreciated offer that still has me a little breathless And kicking myself for the circumstances. Whatr a weekend.Bless you people!

Hi Tony!
I'm glad your mom is fine
It was really good to see you at the Heroes con. Nice to meet Randy too. And Lenny was charming as ever

Thanks for all the kind words. And I really appreciate you guys sticking with my books over these many years.
Glad you had such a good time at the show. I did too. And it is because of readers like you.
Best,
David

Glad you liked the Snapdragon sketch:)
It was good to see you at the show, and thanks for the kind words.
I had a great time. They had a photo of us in the con book, and I think on the website too. That photo you were speaking of, where they say I'm "giggling helplessy as I paint before a befuddled crowd"

Wow, good time it was! I was able to talk to David this time around. Well, "talk" if that's what you want to call it. lol. David was probably the most humble of the artists there. I dunno. Maybe it was just me, but everyone else seemed... well, they seemed like they didn't want you around.

David knew me as "the psycho kid that looked like I was gonna kill him" based on a picture that he was shown by someone. -LOL- *shrugs* Seriously though, he's cool. I wished the painting demo happened this year, but oh well, not much anyone can do about it. I was able to get a cewl lil' sketch of Snapdragon too, which is gonna get framed. But yeah, it was fun. I meant to get a Tranimal, but there are plenty of opportunities for that. Anyhoo, I'll stop ramblin' on. Good seein' ya Dafydd!

Re: DAVID MACK
TUE, 6/15/04, 7:09 p.m. - In Response To: DAVID MACK (JABevan)

Hi Josh,
Thanks!
Good to see you at the show.
Best,
DM

I remember stumbling across the first issue of Circle of Blood nearly ten years ago. It's been a quest since then to follow Kabuki's story. Meeting David Mack and watching him interact with his fans, and spend time talking with each, has made the value of his work increase that much more in my mind.

David Mack remains one of the most gracious and approachable artists within the comic industry. His patience, humility, and generosity reflect the fading generation of artists and sets him apart from the new breed.

Thank you for coming to Charlotte this year. I'm anxious to see what the next year brings and hope to see you again next year.

Thank you,
Josh Bevan

Thanks
I'll see you next year.
Thanks for trying out Kabuki!
Best,
David

I dont know if mr. mack reads any of these but if he does i have this to say: Mr. Mack, it was very cool meeting you and my wife and i both think you were the friendliest, coolest artist there. You did a painting of Daredevil for us and also gave us a ton of free Kabuki issues to check out. We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed meeting you and how wicked awesome that Daredevil will look once we get it framed. We love getting original art at conventions and the piece you did stands out as our favorite. We hope you'll be at the heroes convention in Charlotte, NC again next year. Thanks again!!
