(JMM)
Hey JM,
It is good to hear from you!
I do hope to return to France next January. I very much enjoy my visits
to Angouleme and Paris. I love Angouleme and PARIS! And I look forward
to seeing your book!
There is supposed to be a new French Language Kabuki collection out soon from Marvel France. Please let me know if you see it.
Best,
David

(Number One Fan! :))
So you won't mind if I show up at your apt and "re-decorate" it?
As for the Hopi sweat lodge and shamanism, I think you may really enjoy
my new Echo story that I'm doing in Daredevil 51-55. Lots of delving into Native American culture and mythology and the history and culture of the
storyteller as shaman.
Re: self portrait?
THU, 2/13/03, 2:14 a.m. - In Response To: self portrait? (~Adam)
Hey David,
Good to hear about all this new stuff you're doing. What about the
self-portrait book you've been woking on? I'm looking forward to seeing the preview in the Edge special that should be out soon, but do you have any idea when the complete work might be published? Also, did you decide
on a format? I'd love to see something of yours oversized like Wood's Popbot
books, or even Pope's THB specials, though that might be getting too large...
Hi Adam! I have been intending to do it in an oversize format.
Can't wait to see it. I hope it doesn't take too much time
away from your Kabuki work though, as that's what I'm REALLY looking forward to.
~AB
The funny thing is that they sort of cross over to each other in a weird
way. THey play off each other. Self portrait and the new Kabuki story.

HEROES CON in JUNE
THU, 2/13/03, 2:22 a.m. - In Response To: David,your acolytes await!!
(Tony Saunders)
Are ya gonna be in Charlotte June 13-15?huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?
are ya? Huh? I mean, since I was so nice in asking and not being annoying
at all? If you do attend, might I ask you a favor? Tie...CHAIN Paul Pope
to a nearby table will you? I mean do it in a nice way and all. And if
he tries escaping bash him with one of Lenny's bash sticks.Again,in a nice
way. Seriously, really hope to see you there this year.
Hi Tony, good to hear from you!
I do intend to be there. I will indeed let Paul know of your plea,
and I will encourage him to stay at his table more than a half hour a day.
And thank Lenny again for the new bash sticks he gave me! Andy Lee
and I have beat each other with them many many times. The old sticks and
the new sticks (they are well used, battered and falling apart). I appreciate
that he gave me the new ones because now four people can fight at once.
I hand them out to the neighborhood kids and we joust on our skateboards.
See you in June!

OH,COMICS! #4 - $3.00 - features a story inked by David Mack

GOODNESS! I inked that story when I was 17. I did it in the University
library between classes.
A beautiful (but untitled) painting
http://www.dreamweaverstudios.net
This is a painting that I painted on the stage of a live charity auction
at the last Heroes Con in Charlotte NC. I did a DD painting at the time too. The charity was for aid to burned children. Both of the paintings went for pretty hight prices at the auction.

THU, 2/13/03, 2:35 a.m. - In Response To: Dear Mr. Mack (William Evans)
Dear Mr. Mack,
I was wondering if you were going to be coming to Texas for any
conventions this year. I talked to you a while back, and you said there
should be on in Dallas or Houston this spring. I was wondering if you were
still going and when it will be. I am very enthusiastic about it and am
collecting some of my friends that I have introduced to your work. Thanks
alot, and I hope to see you soon!!
William Evans
Hi William,
Thanks for your interest. I do intend to be at the Wizard World show
in Dallas this November. But they havn't confirmed my attendance yet. So
I will keep you informed on this message board.
Hope to see you there,
David

(Mike B)
Hi David and hi Anh,
Hope all is well, and that work is going well as well.
(That's a lotta wells!)
Hi Mike,
Looking forward to the new Kabuki and Daredevil/Echo story.
Can't wait. But I guess I have too.
It won't be long...
Just wondering; I posted a while back about the idea of
Kabuki decals and you said that you and Anh were actually looking into having some made. I was wondering if anything ever came of that. If you
decided to do them or not and if so will you possibly have some with you at Megacon.
Anh says she thinks we will have the Kabuki Decals at Megacon! Hope to see you there...
Thanks for your time, and I look forward to seeing you guys
again at Megacon.
Mike B
P.S. Will Rick Mays ever make his way to the east coast???
Rick used to do Pittsburgh when he lived there. But now that he's been
in LA for the past few years, San Diego is the only con of the year that
he's been signing at. But maybe someday?
Re: Just a new fanatic's introduction
SAT, 2/15/03, 3:04 a.m. - In Response To: Just a new fanatic's introduction
(pup)
Hello, all -
I was a comic book fanatic in my younger years (mostly Marvel stuff),
and I've been away from the "scene" for a very long time. But thanks to
an article I read in SPIN magazine that raved about Circle Of Blood, I'm now a devout Kabuki fan, and I'm hooked on the series. I just wanted to say "howdy" to everybody, and share my excitement about this whole Kabuki thing - which is what this forum is all about, right? [:)]
Hi pup, Welcome to the message board! Thanks for reading my books
and for the kind words.
I just got all the available Kabuki-Moore action figures recently, and I'm amazed at the attention to detail in accordance with the comic series. My War-torn Kabuki seems to have all the right wounds in all the right places. And the Factory tattoo still on the Kageko action figure is a smart touch! Thank you, Mr. Mack for overseeing these projects
and making sure they are up to par. The fans really appreciate it. It is
this attention to detail that gives me hope for the Kabuki translation
to the big screen. Don't give in to the Hollywood "cookie-cutter" machine,
Mr. Mack. We're on your side and counting on you.
Thanks for noticing the attention to detail, and for the encouragement
and support. I'm very happy with how the figures came out so far.
And when the heck is the Scarab action figure gonna be available?
[:)]
Well the Scarab figures are being displayed at Toy Fair in NY this week.
They look great and they have much more articulation than the Kabuki figures did. They should be out by the time the new Kabuki series is out later this year. And then Siamese are next. I'll definitely keep you updated
on this message board.
Kindest regards,
David
A&F & illustration to Gandhi intro in 411...
SAT, 2/15/03, 3:18 a.m. - In Response To: Mack Bendis sketch from A&F
quarterly (~Adam)
Hi Adam,
Thanks. I didn't know this was out yet.
Ambercrombie & Fitch quarterly has an interview on Bendis (they seem to do interviews of comic creators every issue) and they asked me to do the illustration for it.
Just fyi:
Marvel is publishing a book called 411.
Arune Gandhi (the grandson of the Gandhi) wrote the introduction as an article called: Understanding the Culture of Non Violence.
I did the illustration to accompany his intro.
