Penguin)
Of course the sicle is really just a garden tool....
I called the airlines ahead of time to make sure that I could transport
the sickle in my checked baggage. I described it as a "replica of a Japanese farm tool".
They said it was fine. I continued to use that description and I had
no problem getting it in checked baggage both ways.
Dragon Con THIS WEEK...
Posted By: MACK!
Date: TUE, 8/27/02, 4:15 p.m.
Just a reminder, August 30 through Sept 2 I will be signing at the Dragon
con with Anh Tran and Andy Lee. Andy Lee will be drawing and painting commissions
of anything you request.
I will be happy to sign as many books as you want to bring. And will
have original art available for sale and a huge selection of Kabuki prints, shirts and books. I will be speaking at 2 panels and happy to answer questions.
Will also have the Kabuki sickle on display.
If you have not been to Dragon con, you really should check it out.
Besides all the amazing artists, the con spills out it's sci fi insanity
all through downtown Atlanta. It is easily the least clothed and most heavily
armed convention. By that I mean there are amazing costumes. Some people
just wear paint. ANd almost everyone has a sword or a large firearm. Bring
your camera.

when you create your comics, what size are the originals?
For comics I usually work on 11x17 board and mostly use BLUE LINE PRO.
I think you can order them yourself from blueline.com.
And when you do collage/montages is any of it done on computer
or is all by hand
All by hand. I've never used photo shop.
and the final piece scanned or photographed for the comic?
Usually scanned.
Thanks for reading my stuff, Marty.
Best,

Re: New Kabuki in Previews
FRI, 8/30/02, 2:06 a.m. - In Response To: New Kabuki in Previews (Corran)
The Kabuki Ghost Play is in the catalogue now. It is the newest painted
Kabuki story that I've done.
If you want it, please make sure to ask your retailer to order it ahead
of time, because the print run will be set to meet the initial advance
orders only.
Best,
David
