Thanks Tony,
Glad you liked it. I do hope to release a Reflections #5 if possible.
Have a ton more sketches and personal drawings that I could put into it.
Thanks for the gifts in Australia. I have that bluish face sculpture
on one of my tables!

(Diane)
0__0 If only I had about 800 dollars for a plane ticket,
I would be there! Are there any conventions/events that you will be at
this year particularly around Ohio? Darn....perhaps I will get my cousin
in CA to go in my place!
--Diane
Every year I sign at the Mid Ohio Con in Columbus Ohio. Signed there every
year for the last ten years, and will be there this year as well.
It is at the same time every year. The Sat-Sun after Thanksgiving.
Hope to see you there.

Re: Thanks, Mr. Mack!
MON, 7/22/02, 8:04 a.m. - In Response To: Thanks, Mr. Mack! (Jenipher)
Jenipher,
I really appreciate you taking the time to give a such nice feedback
to Anh and I.
Very glad that you had such a good time at the show and the Wizard
class that I spoke at. Very glad that you attended. That was the first
time that I did a talk like that at the Wizard show. It was a pretty big
turnout, and I hope it was well recieved and helpful to everyone.
Best,
David
Mr. Mack (David?),
I just wanted to send a thank you to both you and Anh. I know it's
a little late. But you were both so kind to me at Wizard World - I came
back to your booth at least once a day (and don't worry, I had to buy something
every time too!), and you were both really great about it. I was the one
who asked you too many questions with my friends videotaping on either
side. Which, by the way, I didn't mean to come off as some sort of unasked-for-interview, because it was really just my curiosity as a reader/writer/artist. Also, your panel on Sunday was really informative, and I was so glad to catch it.
Anyway, please tell Anh (unless she reads this!) that I really appreciate
how giving and kind she is to us fans -- it was amazing. And thanks so
much to you too for creating Kabuki and being so giving to your fans as well. You are both amazing. You guys were the reason I gave Wizard World
another shot this year, and I wasn't disappointed.

Thanks for posting this! It's a new one and I haven't seen/read it before.
I REALLY love Andy's interviews. He has a great way of speaking and it
always makes me smile and laugh out loud. And this one even brought back
some fond memories!

Re: Kabuki motion picture
MON, 7/22/02, 8:13 a.m. - In Response To: Re: Kabuki motion picture
(Bobashark)
Hi there!
Thanks for the interest.
Well, the main reason I don't speak about the film is that by terms
of a confidentiality agreement, I'm not able to speak of anything other
than the actual credits under which I have worked with Fox. So, while I
really appreciate your passion and enthusiasm about it, I can't speak to
you directly about it or any of the process of it. That sort of thing,
along with how the film will be announced, etc.
Why has no one responded to this? In the hardcover reprints,
Mack is CREDITED has being in several production positions for a 20th Century
Fox film version of Kabuki- so what happened? That was 2 years ago, give me a scrap, anything? WHy would Mack credit himself with all those jobs with NO film in production? I've heard no Kabuki mentioned in any article discussing the new comic book movie boom, from Road to Perdition to Spider-man. Did he work on the Daredevil film? What's going on????
Re: Concerning a very old fanart...
MON, 7/22/02, 8:22 a.m. - In Response To: Concerning a very old fanart...
(Ling)
I don't know how to start this off, but recently someone
tossed me this URL:
http://www.comicscommunity.com/
And to my surprise, I found myself staring at the Kabuki fanart I did long ago. It's probably frivolous of me to revive such an old thread, but I want you to know, Mack, that it really surprised me that you saw
it. It might not seem like such a huge deal to you, but I feel quite honored
that it somehow was seen by you, asI never thought _that_ would ever happen.
I'm going to end this here before my nervous, typing fingers make
a fool of themselves.
Sincerely,
Ling
Hi Ling,
Welcome to my message board. Thanks for reading my books. I really enjoyed
seening the Kabuki image you did.
I also just checked out your site that Zhou posted a link to. Really
dug the story based on the song. And thanks for mentioning Kabuki and me on your site! Glad you like my work. Like what I've seen of yours so far. Are you working professionally right now?
Also you have good taste in the choice of art backgrounds in your site designs!
Hope you continue to read my books and stop by the message board [:)]

San Diego Con NEXT WEEK...
MON, 7/22/02, 5:52 p.m.
In case anyone doesn't know it, I will be signing at the San Diego Con
Next week (Wed- Sun). It opens at 5:30 on Wednesday evening. This will
be my first time doing the opening night. For those that want to go ahead
of time and avoid the crowds and mayhem, this is a great time to go.
Also Thursday. All Day Thursday I will be signing at the con. And of
course thru the entire weekend.
I will be at the KABUKI booth right next to the POWERS booth at the
Image Comics area. Anh, RICK MAYS, Andy Lee, and Mike Oeming will all be
there with me at the KABUKI/POWERS booths.
And yes, I said RICK MAYS. This will be the ONLY signing that Rick Mays
does for the year. Tomomi will be there with him. He will be accepting
commissions for sketches from our readers. And he will have some of his
original art for sale.
Andy Lee will also be doing amazing art at your request and commission.
I will also have a ton of original art for sale and for presentation
(Kabuki, Scarab, DD, Alias covers). Will have a huge selection of Kabuki prints for you to choose from. Will have Kabuki paperbacks, hardcovers,
and back issues for sale. Kabuki T-shirts and more.
I will sign as many Kabuki books of your own collection that you want to bring. Please stop by and don't be shy:) I'd love to get your feedback on my work and will be happy to answer questions. If you have a Kabuki tattoo, please let us know and Anh will be happy to take a photo and I'll
print it if you allow it.
If there is something special you are looking for (specific rare book,
etc) post it here ahead of time, and we'll let you know if we can bring
it.
If you haven't been to the SD con before, check it out if you can. It
is a huge crazy world. Just about all of your favorite writers and artists
will be there.
Signing at LEE's Comics in Sept...
TUE, 7/23/02, 8:23 a.m. - In Response To: MACK! Lee's? (Ken Kneisel)
David-
Are you still coming to Lee's Comics in Mountain View this September?
I've still got my Scarab print from last year to get signed, plus a few HCs too. [;)]
I also just turned ANOTHER friend on to Kabuki the other day too!
I just happened to have my Metamorphosis HC laying around the living room and he seemed to like it. The next thing I knew, he and my roommate came home from lunch with a copy of the Skin Deep TPB! [:D]
-Ken
I will definitely be there! It's been years since I signed at Lee's. And
I've never been to his brand new store. Very much looking forward to it.
Especially since I missed Wondercon this year.
