Pittsburgh Comicon THIS Fri-Sun...
THU, 4/25/02, 1:41 a.m.
I will be signing at the con all three days this weekend. I will have
a table right next to Brian Bendis and Andy Lee. Mike Oeming will also
be there. So will Quesada, but I don't know when his signing times are.
Make sure to bring the new issue of Team Up [#15] - Andy, Bendis and I can
all sign it at once.
I will be happy to sign as many of my comics as you want to bring, or
any that you pick up from my table.
I will have original artwork (Daredevil, Kabuki, Scarab) and a huge selection of Kabuki prints. Will have paperbacks, hardcovers and back issues.
If you haven't tried Kabuki before, this would be a good oppertunity to stop by the table and get it signed as well. Start from the begining or
just pick up anything you are missing.
Will also have Kabuki T-shirts (4 different kinds in regular or girl style). Will also try to have some DD back issues available to those that are looking for it. There is a good chance that I will have the Scarab Hardcover fresh from the printer at the con.
Pittsburgh is a great con, come check it out. Just watching Andy Lee work is alone worth the price of admission. Come get an original drawing from him. You order it up and then watch him paint it.

I should also have a printers mock up of Reflections #4. Not for sale, but you can look through it and get a sneak peak.

Scarab Hardcover news...

Image just told me that it ships May 1 and will be in stores by May
8.
I should have samples of it sent to me at the Pittsburgh con this Friday
so you can see it.
An earlier sample was sent to me when I was in Australia. It looks fantastic.
Rick is going to be very happy.
New Zealand / Australia...
THU, 4/25/02, 2:02 a.m.
I can't begin to tell you how amazing my last two weeks in these countries
have been. So many things happened. Beautiful, wonderful places. Met thousands
of amazing people.
I had a great time teaching the class at the University of Technology
in Sydney. So many people showed up and made it a fantastic class. The
organizer Tim McEwan said that sixty some people signed up for it, and
many more called, but they put a cap on it after sixty. SO many talented
Australian artists attended and contributed to a great discussion.
Touring with me at the stores and both of the big conventions were two
Scottish fellows (Mark Millar, and Frank Quitely) who Anh and I really
enjoyed spending time with, and many actors from Sci-fi shows and pop culture.
We all got on very well together travelling around and spending so much
off time together. Can you imaging eating every meal together with the
actors who played Batgirl, Chewbacca, Klingons, the voice actresses of
Pikachu and Dragon ball Z, the girl from Beast master and the actors of
farscape, babylon 5, and Earth final conflict?
All great people. I learned a ton, and we laughed the whole time. Wonderfully
bizzare.
I met so many wonderfull Kabuki readers. Some worked on the Lord of the Rings filmed in New Zealand, and one reader was nice enough to give
me a Lord of the Rings FILM CREW shirt!
I met a lot of people from this message board. Including Glenn Gould
and Mark Dito whose letters I have published in the Kabuki letters page, Droideka, Tony Solomon (who was nice enough to give me some of his art
work, very nice guy) and many many more.
I'm sure I will tell more about it after I return from the Pittsburgh
con.
But if you ever get a chance to go to NZ or OZ, do it.
Mid-Ohio-Con? Yes! Novi? Yes! *NT*

He said that you were a very nice person and that he worked
out with you while he was still drunk off of his ass. Mark's a very cool
guy and I do dig his writing alot. And Frank (I mean Vince, since Vince
is Frank's real name), is a real talented artist.

Mark and Vince really made the trip for us. Besides being amazing talents,
these guys are just plain GREAT people. And super funny and smart. We had
so many wonderful times with them, that I can't even begin to tell you.
I have a TON of hilarious stories of us together. The work out room story
was pretty ridiculous.
Mark was also the only person to go swimming with me in Australia. Vin
and Anh usually did the shopping together.

It's great to hear you enjoyed your trip down to the ass
end of the world. Were there any particular sights you wanted to check
out while you were down here ?
maybe you can convince more comic creators to take the trip down
here ...

One of the highlights for me was vistiting Piha. Beautiful place! LOved
it. Spent the entire day there with Anh, Amy (native New Zealander) and
Robert Leeshock (lead actor from Earth Final conflict). Went swimming in
the waves at the beach with the black sands.
Also went trecking throught the forest there. Saw an amazing waterfal
and the sunset at the beach.
Also took the ferry to Devonport and climbed an old volcano called Mount
Victoria. Then we took turns sliding down it on the remnants of cardboard
boxes. Great day.
