Re: David, WonderCon?
FRI, 2/8/02, 10:19 a.m. - In Response To: David, WonderCon? (Ken Kneisel)
Hey David what's up? It's Ken.
I haven't posted in a LOOONG while, but I was just wondering if you
and Anh would be at this year's WonderCon? I hope so since I've seen you
there for the past three years in a row (I'm the tall guy who always brings
friends/new converts and stuff to sign.) and you're probably the main reason
I keep going. Plus I've turned a few other friends from school on to your
stuff and they'd probably like to meet you too.
Anyways it's April 19-21 and I know you mentioned before that you
might have some schedule conflicts but I do hope to see you there...
Hi Ken,
I totally remember you. Thanks for introducing others to my work.
I LOVE attending Wondercon. When I was invited to sign in Australia
and New Zealand this April, Wondercon did not yet have the dates set. I
called Faye Desmond of Wondercon to make sure there would not be a scheduling
conflict. Wondercon had been good to me, and I wanted to keep them on my
MUST ATTEND list for each year.
She was not sure whent he dates would be, but she urged me to go ahead
and attend the OZ/NZ shows saying that I can always come back and do Wonder
Con every year.
When dates were posted for Wondercon, it turned out to be at the same
time that I am in OZ/NZ. So it looks like I will not me attending Wondercon
this year. But I certainly want to attend next year. Hopefully the Wondercon
administration will miss me a little bit this year, or fans will be asking
for me, and then Wonder Con may hopefully invite me ahead of time to be
a guest for next year.
In the mean time, I am going to make sure I visit the Bay Area this
year for sure. I'm going to do a signing at LEE'S COMICS (in MountainView)
sometime this year. Hopefully the readers that usually seek me out at Wondercon
will attend the LEE'S COMICS store signing. I'm sure Lee will make it a
big event with free prints and other things.
