Hi Kyle,
Yes, I sure did. Thank You for sending them!
I didn't read'em all yet, but I enjoyed what I looked at so far. I'm
glad that the 24 hour comic is so satisfying for you. It may be fun for
me to try sometime.

the further adventures of Kabuki...
MON, 12/17/01, 7:10 a.m.
Just to let everyone know:
I've been doing a lot of work on the new Kabuki series. Doing a lot
of writing, refining the scripts, polishing ideas and getting very psyched
to launch it.
It is really great to immerse myself in this new story. It is a new
part of the character's story that I have been looking forward to while
I was working on the previous stories. Really looking forward to how people
are going to respond to the various phases and evolutions of Ukiko's life.

MACK signing in France...
TUE, 12/18/01, 3:44 p.m.
It is official. Anh and I will be at the Festival of Angouleme again
this year. I will be signing at the Marvel France Booth. Marvel France
is the French publisher of Kabuki, and they will be releasing the KABUKI Metamorphosis collection early next year (2002). They were kind enough
to invite Anh and I as guests of the show to sign at their booth in promotion
of the New release of KABUKI Metamorphosis for the first time in French.
After Angouleme, I will be signing in Paris the following week at two
bookstores: ALBUM (my third signing there) and at ARKHAM (my first time
there).
I believe that Jae Lee will also be signing with me.
I hope to see as many of my French and European readers there that can
make it.

for MAck! LOL (Ghostgirl)
Wow! That is VERY well done. I'm not familiar with the program you used,
but the finished art is very impressive.
Very relaxed and loose, but totally captures the character in a Japanese
style.
Thanks a lot for showing it!

something) (Ghostgirl)
Welcome to the Kabuki message board.
Thanks for your interest in Kabuki. I hope that you do read all the books. Let me/us know what your reaction is to the Kabuki stories when
you have a chance to read them.
Thanks,
David
Heya!
Everything I know about Kabuki I just read at the http://www.nohtv.com/
website.(Man, I just have to get this comic! omg I love the artwork and
I have to know more bout the story!)
So just thought it was kinda funny, how this pic I made not very
long ago kinda resembled the Siamese character: http://xanxan.homestead.com/files/GGicon4.jpg
I swear I didn't know of Siamese before and Ghostgirl has been my
nick for like 5 years now.
Anyways I'm really curious bout the story and I'm gonna try my best
to find some KAbuki stuff! (Dunno if they have this stuff in Holland )
Mack you rock!

Whitehouse)
Hi David,
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I appreciate you posting on the board
here.
I have indeed heard of Shadowbox Cabaret! In fact my girlfriend and
I were just talking about it the other day and saying we should go check
it out. And your name sounded very familiar to me. I think I read about
you recently in a newspaper.
Congratulations on all of your success. And for your words here. It
is great to learn that you are familiar with my work.
Feel free to plug your show here on the board, or post a link to your
site if you want to. There are a lot of fans of the arts on this board.
I'm sure they would be happy to learn about your theater company.
I'll have to attend a show asap.
Warmest regards,
David
Re: A Few ?'s For Mack
THU, 12/20/01, 10:09 p.m. - In Response To: A Few ?'s For Mack (Mike
B)
Hi Mike,
Happy Holidays to you too.
Thanks for reading my books.
Below, some responses to your questions...
Now I don't know if this will be revealed in future issues
of Kabuki or not but I was somewhat confused by Oni/Kai in Circle of Blood.
What was Oni's role in the Noh? Was there an original Oni that Kai had
killed and secretly replaced? I know Kai was there to plot the deaths of
all of his competition but will it ever be revealed how he infiltrated
the Noh? I understand if you don't want to reveal this info quite yet.
-----The implication was that there probably was another person who originally
wore the Oni mask, and at some point Kai infiltrated the Noh and "replaced"
him.
I do have some future stories with Kai planned chronicalling his earlier
life. It is possible that some of those stories could touch on or drop
hints to the mechanics behind his infiltration of the Noh.
Will there be Oni and/or Dove masks made?
-----These are not on the immediate plans/schedule, but if there proves
to be a huge demand for these two masks, I would be happy to accomodate
that. I think that Moore Creations would make them, IF they were sure that
the masks would sell well. But at the moment, I don't think they believe
that these two masks would sell as well, or be as popular as the current
eight Noh Masks.
But if they feel the demand, I think they would do it.
Just got my info packet on the Megacon in the mail and I
----Cool, I hope I get one. I'd like to see how they are promoting it.
can't wait to go. In it they only profiled four people in
the comic industry who were attending, it was nice to see that you were
one of them. I've read how you've done Kabuki panels at past conventions.
Any plans to hold one at the Megacon?
----That is nice to hear. Glad they profiled me in the packet. Looks like
they are doing some heavy promotion for it. I'm really looking forward
to attending in February.
I think that they did say that I would be doing one panel. It would
be nice if it is a "Spotlight on Kabuki" or "Spotlight on Mack" type panel
like the ones I do at Mid-Ohio Con.
I really like to let the questions from the audience drive the panel,
and do a back and forth with everyone.
Finally before I go, just wondering if there is any news
on the Kabuki movie front? Anything? Just a lil scrap or tidbit of info?
----wellllll, I did just close a deal for Kabuki as a LIVE ACTION film.
Other than that, I'm not supposed to say anything other than my own work
for FOX (which besides writing the treatment is listed ast "Visual Designer,
Creative Consultant, and Co-Producer").
Would love to say more (especially who they are mentioning for the lead
role!!!), but I should wait until that stuff is official and let them announce
it first.
Thanks for your interest, and for reading my books,
David
