I study her lips and notice that I hear her voice even when her mouth is closed. Furthermore, her mouth does not match her words.

Re: Metamorphosis TPB?
MON, 10/1/01, 9:51 a.m. - In Response To: Re: Metamorphosis TPB? (Peter Quach)

Yeah, they're exactly identical down to the brushstrokes. I counted about 290 pages in my [Metamorphosis] TPB. How many pages are there in a normal copy?

Peter

I think it is 288 pages. How many pages do you have that are extra identical pages? Is it 8 or 16? I think each of the printing signatures is put in as a multiple of 8 or 16 pages. Chances are that you may have got an extra one.

Which is no problem unless you are missing some other signature. Can you count the pages of each chapter? Each chapter should have either 24, 26, or 28 pages.

If any of them have less than that, or do not reflect the extra pages of the extra signature, then I'll find out how you can get the book replaced, or will replace it for you myself.

Re: David some questions....
MON, 10/1/01, 9:57 a.m. - In Response To: David some questions.... (Daut Berisha)

Hello,

Will you be doing the covers for Alias in definitely?
I am doing each an every cover for as long as it goes. Or at least as long as my friend Bendis is working on it, which I think will be as long as it goes.
And Will there be a version of the Dreams hardcover thatisn't signed and #ed?
Yes. We solicited the regular hardcover first. A couple months before the recent offer for the signed and #ed with sketch. You can still ask your retailer to order it. It is 128p and retails for $24.95.
One more thing is the dreams hardcover going to have a better binding than my copy of masks of the noh?
Yes. This one should have better paper and production values than ever before.

Re: Skin Deep TPB question
MON, 10/1/01, 10:09 a.m. - In Response To: Skin Deep TPB question (Lee)
I was browsing Amazon, and it gave me two different Skin Deep listings, and both appear to be paperback. One is quite a bit cheaper than the other, so I'm wondering what the difference(s) is/are aside from the different covers. Here is the cheap one: http://www.amazon.com
This is the first printing. It went out of print long ago and we had to print again. So maybe Amazon still has copies of it. I don't know. All the other distributors do not.

The other one is the newer printing. When we printed this one paper and production prices were higher for us so we changed the retail price from $9.95 to $10.95 to account for the extra costs and the immense overprinting that we did. However this one is just about to go out of print too. Image told me that the comic book distributor only has a couple hundred left in stock. So we probably will run out in the next month or two, and have to do a third printing as soon as possible.

The second printing does have some interier differences from the first, but not in the story. I redesigned the first few pages of the book and the covers.

I hope you can get one of them. Let me know what you think about the story. If you have trouble getting them, you can always get them (either one) from me directly.

Best,

DM

And the other one (which happens to say it's a special order): http://www.amazon.com

Re: Action figures
WED, 10/3/01, 5:19 a.m. - In Response To: Action figures (Anna)
Mr. Mack,

I was wondering when and if more figures in the kabuki action figure line are coming out. I love the current line and i can't wait to have a circle of the noh siting on my shelf. You rock.

-anna

Thanks, Anna.

I'm looking forward to them all myself. Right now Scarab is being made. So I'm guessing it will be early 2002 when Scarab is in stores and the rest will come out regularly right after that. Probably every couple of months like the MASKS are coming out right now.

KABUKI 1/2 in stores today... (Siamese Masks)
WED, 10/3/01, 5:24 a.m.

If you missed the Wizard Magazine mail in offer two years ago, get this one in stores today. It is a fully painted story never printed anywhere else. And this new IMAGE version [of Kabuki #1/2] has some extra stuff in it. A very detailed interview (with me  and an in depth commentary on the Kabuki art and story from the French Magazine EKLLIPSE. A new letters collumn too. And all of the original covers.

Add for the new Siamese masks is on the back. Both Masks come together for only $35. Have your retailer pre-order from the PREVIEWS catalogue.

Metamorphosis paperback in stores!
WED, 10/3/01, 5:27 a.m.

If you missed the nine issues, or could not afford the hardcover, get the [Metamorphosis] paperback. I think of this as probably my best Kabuki work. At least my most EVOLVED work in story and art.

If you've read Scarab or the other Kabuki books, but not this one... please pick it up. It will make all the other books much more enjoyable.

THanks

DM

Re: Collaboration
THU, 10/4/01, 11:55 p.m. - In Response To: Collaboration (Art is Life)
I was wondering if Mack! would be interested with collaborating with Linsner? I appreciate both of your works and think the result would be great!
I'd be happy to. We run into each other occasionally at cons and dinners, and I always enjoy the conversation. And I really enjoy his work. He agreed to do a Kabuki painting years ago. And we always say how we are looking forward to it when it happens.

I use Blue Line PRO art boards
FRI, 10/5/01, 12:01 a.m. - In Response To: Art question for MAck (lordrust)

I pretty much use this as a base board for almost all of my comic book work. They come 11x17. THey also have blue line page markings on the front, but I ignore that and use the back.

I use it for b/w, paintings, and as a base to collage other stuff onto. You can probably order it from any store or online. Try Blueline.com or something like that.

But I just use the Blue Line "PRO" brand. The run of it that I have is thicker than any other comic type art board.

Hope that helps. Tell them you heard it from me! I've been using it for 10 years.

Let me know what you think of the META tpb story.

DM

Hey David

what type of paper do you use? illustration boards? cold or hot press?

haven;t managed to pick you met yet but will very soon
can;t wait

Re: Thank you for all your work on Daredevil.
FRI, 10/5/01, 12:05 a.m. - In Response To: Thank you for all your work on Daredevil. (Blind Love)
An incredible run of covers. A brilliantly written story that introduces us to Echo. A fantastic collaberation with Bendis [during Wake Up]. Thank you for it all. I hope to see your touch again, in any capacity, on the pages or covers of the greatest comicbook hero there is.
Thanks. I really appreciate your words. I'm very glad you like the work.
I understand that you are going to be doing an Echo series someday. I don't know how far along you are in the planning stages, but I have two questions. Will you be both writer and artist? Will Matt/DD make an appearance?
Joe Q suggested that I paint like a one or two issue story and then write an ongoing series. So I'd like to do that. When I finish some Kabuki stuff and other personal stuff first.
Thanks again for your work on DD.
C.
