SCARAB #8...mysteries revealed!!!
Posted By: MACK!
Date: FRI, 8/24/01, 12:05 a.m.
I'm really looking forward to hearing about what you think of this issue.
There are a couple parts that may make you look back at some of the early
issues on Metamorphosis (Kabuki 1-9). Especially issue #3, I think.
And there will be sections with each of the Noh Agents featured. And
you do learn about answers to some of the questions posed in the Metamorphosis
story.
So I would suggest to any Scarab fans who have not read Metamorphosis
(Kabuki 1-9) that they read it before reading Scarab #8.
But I ask of you, Please, PLEASE do not post any spoilers from Scarab
#8 on the message board or anywhere else on the Net. Please do not even
post the spoilers with spoiler warnings.
I do really want to hear what your feedback is to this issue and the Scarab story as a whole, but please post messages about it that do not give ANYTHING away.
Thanks!
David
Re: A question for Mr Mack
TUE, 9/4/01, 3:22 p.m. - In Response To: A question for Mr Mack (Andrea)
Hello Andrea!
I'm glad to hear that Wake Up is out in Italy now. Marvel Italia is also publishing the KABUKI Metamorphosis story very soon. I think they
are doing production on it right now.
To answer your questions about models in my DD story:
The main kid Timmy, is my next door neighbor. He is a really cute kid
and I new he would be perfect for this story for a long time. SOme of his
friends make an appearance on the playground as well.
Ben Urich is mostly from Photo references of a friend of mine (an artist
named Michael Colley who just exhibited at the Dragon Con this past week).
I mostly used myself for photo references of Matt Murdock and DD when he is interacting with the kid. My girfriend just took photos of us interacting together.
Lauren Hill is the basis for the teacher. And when we started on the story Leo was attached to star in the SPiderman film, so we thought we would make a reference to that.
Thanks for reading,
DM
Mr Mack, I'm an italian DD fan. I've just now read your
DD run, Wake Up. I'd like to know which are the models you've used to draw carachters, like Ben Urich, Matt Murdock etc. ie Peter Parker seems to be Leo DiCaprio, isn't he?
Thanks
Andrea

(RYaN)
Hi,
THanks for reading my stuff. I appreciate the encouraging feedback.
The texture on the DD 19 cover is cut up wall paper samples and paper/tiles.
I'm looking forward to Kabuki's new direction as well. I think you will
be surprised to see the next step in her life.
DM
Dear Mr.Mack,
I truly loved your stint on Daredevil. I am a artist myself, and to see you explore new ideas both conceptually and visually through each issue, is inspiring. (what are the little cut out rectangles on the Daredevil#19
cover made of? they look like little bits of tile. anyway...) I do have
one quick question though. When is Kabuki coming back!?! I miss seeing her on the shelf at the comic book store! She's free of control corps (i think?), what will she do now?
Had fun at Dragon Con
TUE, 9/4/01, 3:36 p.m.
THis was a very fun show. I wanted to thank everyone who showed up.
Especially Lindze who dressed up as Scarab! THis was an amazing fully actualized
realistic costume that she made. ANd her friend came as Kabuki and they caused quite a sensation with the crowds there who took lots of photos of them. GREAT costumes!
From my view, Andy Lee had the biggest crowds at his table the entire
show. I'm real happy for his stead increase in fans and recognition. We
did a fantastic speaking panel together. I've happy that so many people
showed up.
Was a very cool show. I plan to be there next year.
