Mack back from France!

Say it ten times fast.

THere were some amazing ups and downs on this trip.
I'm not going to mention the downs yet, because there were some ups right after it that may cancel it out, but I won't know for sure until a day or so. Then I will tell you the ENTIRE story and hopefully it will be a better one with a happy and even more bizare ending. Sounds cryptic now, but it will be a hell of a story when I get the final news.

Now for all the fun! For those that do not know, The French magazine COMIC BOX invited me as their guest to sign at their booth in the Festival of Angouleme.
The whole COMIC BOX team are a great bunch of people and they really took care of Anh and I throughout our entire stay in France. From Paris to Angouleme and back to Paris again.

Comic Box made a special limited edition set of full color Kabuki postcards for the European market and the con. They are really beatiful and I was very happy with the production. They seemed to be a big hit at the show.

I met a TON of French fans at the con, and even a lot of fans that came from other countries as well. Virginie from this board came from Scotland, and I saw Kabuki readers that I have previously met at other Europeans signings. From Vienna Austria, Madrid Spain, Germany and more. I also gave out cards for this website, so hopefull a lot of them will be joining us here in the future.

I met a lot of amazing European artists like Gabrielle from Italy and Stephan from France who also signed at COMIC BOX. I also met Travis Charest at Album comics in Paris and met John McCrea when he joined our crew for dinner that evening.
I met Kia Asamaya at the show and also saw Mobius.

Saturday was my favorite day of the show. Richard Isonave (colorist of DD) signed next to me all day and the new DD #14 seemed to be a big hit. It was also fascinating to see all the French translated versions of my DD issues.

I think I turned a lot of the French DD readers onto Kabuki with the Kabuki trades that I brought.

I really enjoyed meeting and speaking with each of my French readers So I want to thank you all for attending and for reading my work.
Bendis and I have been invited to a convention in Paris in October, so there is a good possibility that we shall attend to promote our DD project.

Also another big thanks to Comic Box and the team: Lise, Fabrice, Jean-Marie, Xavier, Phong-Vu, Ralph, Cecile, Severin, Francois, Antoine, Stephan, Emmanuelle, Jerome, and to Olivier and the crew at Album comics in Paris.

I will now begin responding to all the posts that I missed while I was gone. Thanks for the words about the new DD.
