I'm semi-bored.  It depends.  I'm always discovering new stuff through back issues and cons, but I don't know how long that will last.  New mainstream stuff typically bores me to h#&% though, so much so that I don't even bother going to bookstores to read them for free anymore.  Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Nightwing, Robin, Teen Titans, Wolverine, Xtreme X-men, Exiles, Aquaman, Catwoman, Green Lantern, Daredevil, Punisher, Supreme Power, Runaways, Hulk, Detective Comics, Amazing Spidey, Spectacular . . . I could go on and on about titles I don't read and have no interest to based on previous exposure.

And the worst part is, I used to be passionate about wanting the creative teams of the above titles removed so better creators could come on and then I could read about those characters.  Now I've just lost interest in most of those characters too . . .

I am quite excited and not bored at all.

I only just started reading avengers and excited about the disassemled event.

I just added The Walking Dead to my pull list after finally picking up the trade.  I got the 7th issue and will be picking it up monthly from now on.

Kabuki and Powers are back in June, and i can't wait to see what Bendis has in store. I loved Powers Vol. 1, and am sure Vol. 2 has more of that wonderul Bendis/Oeming goodness.

As far as Mack's Kabuki, I recently read the first trade, Circle of Blood.  It was so good, I bought the remaining five volumes, and also added Kabuki to my pull list as a monthly, because I won't be able to wait for the trade after reading all those wonderful stories.

Stray Bullets had an issue this month after almost a year long drought, and will have another one in June.

Ultimate XMen and Ultimate Spider-Man are really rocking right now.  Bendis and Bagley haven't let me down yet on USM, and Brian Vaughan and Manuel Garcia's first issue on UXM was excellent.  I have the whole run and am enjoying these characters so much that I dropped all my X-books when the 're-load' hit.

Except for Mystique.  I have been onboard since the first issue, and I think Vaughan was wonderful.  And now McKeever is on, and there has not been one dip in quality.  Plus, I can't wait to see who 'The Quiet Man' is.

I picked up a new series this month called 'Candyappleblack' about an angel who gathers the souls of suicide victims.

I am trying out an OGN in June called 'Emily and the Intergalactic Lemonade Stand' which looks awesome.  Saw the cover and solicit in Previews and ordered it right there.

Recently, DC published the wonderful "It's A Bird" by Steven Seagle and Teddy Kristiansen.  A nice original hardcover story that was done in 22 different art styles.  Beautiful work that has been gathering critical acclaim in the mainstream press, as well as the comics community.  I would love this to win some awards when that time rolls around.

So, as you can see, I voted a resounding NO!  I am more excited about comics NOW, than I have been in quite some time!!

Hey Shwicaz,
Thanks for the exciting response to my Kabuki trades.  I'm glad you checked them out, and that you are looking forward to the new series.

Anyone can start the new Kabuki series from Marvel right there, without having read the trades.  But if you've read KABUKI: Circle of Blood, or KABUKI: Metamorphosis, you'll have an inside view on the new series and see some extra layers in it

I really am trying to make each Kabuki issue an exciting exploration of the medium as well as the characters.  In each issue, I make a conscious effort to improve and break ground that I haven't covere before, as well as weave together an over-arching story that goes beyond the box of what peaple are used to in comics.

I normally read regularly
Ultimates
Hellboy
Sin city
100 bullets
Stray bullets

How about...

Y:  The Last Man
Fables
Queen & Country
The Walking Dead
Flash
Outsiders
Planetary
Losers

I'd also suggest Stormwatch:  Team Achilles, but it's been cancelled.  I'd also suggest Negation, but that might never see print again considering all the problems Crossgen's been having.

All of these titles bring me back month after month.  I have others that do the same, like JSA and Amazing Spider-Man, but I tried to stick with titles that have kinda the same tone as the others you mentioned.

--------------
My top 5:

1) Amazing Spider-Man
2) Negation
3) Y:  The Last Man
4) Outsiders
5) Flash

Criminally underread:  Negation, Gotham Central, Walking Dead, Abadazad, Queen & Country

I found the first color Kabuki issues (er, whichever they were, they were from 1997).  The whole format and means of storytelling blows my mind.  I wish some of it was a little clearer, but the challenge is enjoyable.  Long as the new Icon series is $3 and in color, I might go for it.

Thomas, looking at the stuff you listed, another title seemed appropriate.

SLEEPER. Brubaker and Philips do writing and art published by Wildstorm. Mature title, with superpowers. It's about an undercover agent in a supervillain organization. It's accessible too. The first season ended just a little while ago. One trade (Out in the Cold) is out and a second trade is scheduled for July (I think) with the second 'season' starting in the same month. I gave the first trade an 8/10. The art and story are very noir-ish/gritty.

I'll also recommend Y the Last Man to anybody. It's very well written without any bad issues. Trades are easily available for the first couple of issues, and the series is ongoing. (Currently at issue #23) The art is very competant and has a humanistic quality. The writing is great and the concept is compelling.

Ordinarily I'd also recommend Runaways, but it doesn't look like anything on the list of stuff you read, so I don't know if that's up your alley.

As long as there are back issues out there that I don't have and want I'll never be bored.

Also DC is doing a very good job by putting out books that have kept my interest.  Books like Batman, Birds of Prey, Catwoman, Doom Patrol (soon), Flash, Hawkman, JLA, JSA, Outsiders, Superman, Superman/Batman, Teen Titans and Identy Crisis (soon).

Now marvel on the other hand, with Thanos gone, the only book I'll be getting from them, on a regular basis, is Uncanny X-Men.

I am bored with marvel.

Not at all. I wish less comics that interested me came out in fact, I need the money! :)

I'm slowly getting bored at my DC comics though. Y: The Last Man is great, but it's starting to feel like we're going to go round in circles. Birds of Prey is well written, but I'm not connecting to any of the characters. Only Flash and Outsiders (And that sometimes feels forced) are making me look forward to their next issues.

And Ras, Kabucki will be $3.

..when I am 'bored' with comics, I ussually go browsing thru original art sites. When I find some good/decent art, I try to find some comics done by that artist.

A while ago I discovered a artist called Stuart Sayger, great stuff, he produces a comic called Shiver in the Dark. If you like Ashley Wood/Sienkiewicz stuff check out his work: http://www.stuartsayger.com/

Aslo if you like Mike Mignola's HellBoy check out Eric Powell's the Goon: http://thegoon.com/
-the goon #7 features HellBoy and Mignola art

+ if you are really bored you can always check out what other countries are publishing.
I have recently discovered some 'new' Dell'Otto (Secret War) work, published in Germany. Some 'new' Travis Charest work , published in France and some 'new' Dave McKean work published in Portugal.

Also the last few weeks i discovered magazines like 2000 Ad, Toxic and heavy metal. They have some great, grazy stories with great characters (Slaine, accident man, Simon Coldwater) and beautifull art by Bisley, Emond, Bolton, Sharp, Fabry, etc.
